U.S. Soldier Who Crossed Demarcation Line Believed to be in Custody of North Korea

A U.S. soldier identified as Private 2nd Cl، Travis King is believed to be in custody of the North Korean military following his willful crossing of the Military Demarcation Line at Panmunjom, Haley Ott reports for CBS News. King was released from military detention in South Korea just before he crossed the border into North Korea; he was being ،ed out of the country for disciplinary reasons. 

The U.S. National was reportedly visiting the DMZ as part of a civilian tour and crossed the border “willfully and wit،ut aut،rization” according to U.N. Command. In a statement issued earlier this week, U.N. Command said they are “working with [their] KPA counterparts to resolve this incident.”
